Head of the department, is a graduate of St. John’s Medical College. He obtained the Post Graduate Diploma of Child Health from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore and MD in Pediatrics from Christian Medical College, Vellore. He was awarded the best MD Pediatrics trainee prize for the year 1993 at CMC Vellore. He is a full time pediatrician of the hospital and resides in the hospital campus. He is also a part-time DNB teacher at Bangalore Baptist Hospital. He is the Vice-President of the Bangalore Branch of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP Bangalore) after having held the post of its Secretary for two terms. He has given lectures and chaired scientific sessions at various meetings and conferences of the IAP at the local, state and national level. He has also been the organizing secretary of various pediatric conferences in Bangalore. He is also a life member and an executive committee member of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and the Karnataka State Respiratory Chapter of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. He has presented a paper entitled Cardiac Murmurs in the Neonate at the 8th Asian Congress of Pediatrics at New Delhi in 1994.
