Dr. Jaswant Rai is currently Director, Orthopedics. He did his MBBS (1969) Government Medical College, Amritsar and M S Orthopaedics (1973) Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh.

He was in P. G. I., Chandigarh since 1974 and became the Professor and Head of Unit I Department of Orthopaedics, PGI, Chandigarh, since 1990.

He has been a pioneer Joint Replacement surgeon of the region since 1981.

He has participated and delivered lectures demonstrations including live demonstration in various National and International Joint replacement conferences and workshops. He has taught sports medicine and sports physiology in Punjab University Chandigarh from 1989 to 2003.
