Dr. Rupin Shah is a Urologist who has dedicated himself to Andrology – the super-speciality that deals with male infertility and impotence. He practices as a Microsurgeon and Consultant Andrologist at the Lilavati Hospital.and the Bhatia General Hospital. His special interest is microsurgery for male infertility and he is the first urologist in the country to have trained abroad in Andrological microsurgery. His other major interest is the surgery for impotence, an area in which he has made numerous pioneering contributions. In 1994, he was awarded the President’s prize of the International Society of Impotence Research at the 6th World Meeting of Impotence for developing a new technique of microsurgical penile revascularization. He has developed the Shah penile prosthesis which is the first Indian penile prosthesis and is the most widely used penile implant in India today.

Dr. Shah has presented and published numerous papers and review articles. He has co-edited two books and has contributed chapters to several others. He has held numerous academic positions and was on the Editorial Board of the Indian Journal of Urology.
