Achievements:

A graduate from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal ( MBBS, 1974 & MS, 1978), Dr. Rao obtained his fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow UK in 1982. He worked at various hospitals in and around London as Senior Registrar for over 10 years before returning to Bangalore to join Manipal Hospital in 1991. He is at present Head of the Department of General & Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is the Governing Council member and Hon. Treasurer of Association of Surgeons of India and also the President elect of Surgical Society of Bangalore. He has contributed to many books and has many publications to his credit.
