Get It Right First Time

Most applications are delayed by small, avoidable mistakes. Check your documents against these points, then confirm the exact specification on the official portal for your country.
Your Photograph
- Recent colour photo, square format, taken against a plain light background
- Full face visible, looking straight at the camera
- No cap or hat; head covering worn for religious reasons must not hide the face
- No dark glasses, no shadows, no filters
- Check the exact size and file limits on the official portal before uploading
Your Passport
- Must be valid well beyond your planned return date
- Keep at least two completely blank pages for the visa and stamps
- The name on every document must match the passport exactly
- Scan the personal-details page clearly, with no glare and no cropped corners
- Damaged or nearly full passports should be renewed before you apply
Your Medical Reports
- Send recent reports; very old scans may need to be repeated
- Reports should name the patient, the date and the hospital or lab
- Provide an English translation where the report is in another language
